Petition Letter: I am writing this petition with great enthusiasm and hope for your understanding. As a dedicated student at Queen's University, I had every intention of withdrawing from two courses during the 2022 fall semester due to a medical condition that I experienced during the past summer. Unfortunately, I recently discovered that the system did not drop these courses as I had believed. I was diagnosed with a heart disease problem over the summer that made it difficult for me to concentrate and focus on my studies. As a result, I was unable to keep up with the demands of my coursework, and I realized that I needed to withdraw from my study in order to prioritize my health and recovery. Despite my best efforts, I now realize that I did not complete the withdrawal process correctly, and the two courses ECON222 and ECON255 were not dropped as I had believed. I stopped participating in the course even before the midterms in around October as I intended to drop the two courses. I also left Kingston and returned to Toronto to stay with my family so that they could take care of my health. This has left me in a difficult situation, as I am now withdrawn from my study at Queens. I am writing this petition to request that the university consider withdrawing me from these two courses after the deadline has passed. I understand that this is an unusual request, but I am confident that with your support, I can get back on track and succeed in my academic pursuits. I am deeply committed to my education and to the mission of this university, and I believe that with your help, I can overcome this setback and continue to thrive as a student. I am eager to work closely with my professors and academic advisors to ensure that I am able to catch up on my coursework and complete my degree with the knowledge and skills that I need to succeed in my future career.
