Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: The reason for the entry of this petition is to Drop Cogs 100 due to multiple reasons. During the time of the dropping course timeline, my father was located in the hospital due to cancer. This was the second time during the winter semester that he was sent to the ICU. During the Midterm time I was not allowed to talk to or see my father as it could confuse him with his tumor which was already making him think funny. With my mind on that and with the stress of midterms, I thought I could handle it all, but with getting my midterm back for this course, I failed as I did not make the percentage needed to pass the course. This grade will really impacts my total gpa which I need to keep high to transfer majors into Computing, and at this time with my mindset I cannot do 5 courses.
