Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Hi professor,
I am taking CISC121 right now, and I am taking CISC124 at the same time. The reason of I taking those two classes together is my professor allow me to take them together, because i didn't reach the C- in CISC121 in Fall term, so I take again this Winter term. CISC121 is a pre-requisite for CISC124, so I needed to get a better grade in the course, and that is why I am retaking it.

I used to think that I could finish both of them at the same time, and study CISC121 and CISC124 at the same time, I tried my best to finish these two courses this semester, but during the final period, the truth is taking both of 121 and 124 is too difficult
for me, and the similar but different languages ????of the two courses made it impossible for me to review both courses at the same time during the final period, so I am appealing to drop the CISC124 preserve my other grades.

After my drop class appeal of this winter term CISC124 been accepted, I am sure will take CISC124 again very soon at Summer term or fall term this year, which ever is available.

New Information: Dear madam,

I am writing to you to appeal my request to drop the CISC 124 course. Unfortunately, I have been experiencing some difficult and traumatic events that have made it impossible for me to continue with my final review for cisc124 at this moment. I am facing a series of challenges related to my living situation that have impacted my mental and emotional well-being.

Since I moved out of my previous apartment, I have been experiencing harassment and discrimination from my landlord. This harassment includes racial slurs, verbal abuse, and even demands for payment of a 4200 room fee AFTER 4 months since I quit my lease. My landlord thinks that I don't understand the law as an international student and tried to take advantages from me by threatening me and my cousin with various ??so-called? Canadian laws if I don??t pay 4200. I have spent a lot of time and effort to get my justice back, but every time I confronted them in the office, they all choose to ignore me and even swear on me with ??F words?. These incidents all happened in a short period and coincidentally it was the time I was preparing for the exam for CISC124. They have severely consumed my energy and time so I can??t focus on the study of my exam for CISC 124. It made me extremely nervous, anxious, and even depressed.

Severe anxiety caused me not to eat or sleep for nearly a week, which has brought my spirit to the verge of collapse. I have sought help from school housing advisors, even the Chinese embassy, because I am really panic and don??t know what to do.

Despite my best efforts to cope with the situation, I have found myself unable to complete the required coursework (assignment 5 and assignment 6 take up 16% of the course grade) as good as previous ones for this class. Specifically, I am unable to take the final exam(25%) for this course due to the stress and anxiety caused by my living situation. As a result, I feel that it is in my best interest to withdraw from this course so that I can take the necessary steps to address my mental and emotional health.
I understand that dropping this course will have an impact on my academic progress, but my mental health at this time has severely impacted my study of CISC124, I can??t even calm down and concentrate on anything at this moment, I am committed to returning to my studies and making up for the lost time once I have resolved these issues.
I have attached all the proofs and records to back up the facts I have stated.

Thank you for your consideration of my appeal, I sincerely hope it can be approved.

Sincerely,
Wanting Huang
