Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I have been dealing with depression and also generalized anxiety disorder. These conditions have made my day to day very difficult, and I have had a lot on my plate with all the school work, my job, and creating plans for after graduation. This term, I got incredibly overwhelmed, and I was forced to pick which courses to prioritize. I chose to prioritize the required courses for my major, and my other electives. Unfortunately, I did not have the capacity to perform in RELS 218. I believe that, had I not been suffering from depression and difficulty in coping with all of other classes, I could have performed a lot better in this class. Since these issues first arose, I have been consistently attending psychotherapy as well as attending medical appointments at SWS. While I feel that this treatment has been helpful and has a lot of potential, unfortunately it was not able to get me to a place where I could catch up on all my missed work in RELS 218. I can also attach a letter from a medical professional.
