Dear Associate Deans:
I am a first year student enrolled in three courses for the 2015 academic winter term. I am appealing to receive aegrotat standing in two of my courses. I have had ongoing correspondence with Michelle Gallant and Melody Monte who have touched base with all of my instructors. Both of my instructors in KNPE 125 and KNPE 167 have supported aegrotat standing. Also, my instructor was able to reweigh the third course, BIOL 103.
I am not able to complete the course work and evaluations for these courses because of medical circumstances. Unfortunately, these circumstances are beyond my control and as such, they have impeded my ability to study. That is, various factors caused my medical condition to flare up near the end of March. My symptoms have become intolerable, which affect my ability to concentrate, process information, and critically think. I have been taking frequent visits home to receive medical attention and family support.
I have all intentions to reach my academic goals and complete my undergraduate studies at Queen¿¿s. My future plans are to continue counseling with a medical professional. This includes psychotherapy and I will also be reaching out to Health and Disability Services to review and reassess my accommodations for the next academic year. I think this is very important for my future success and experience as a Queen¿¿s student.
I am hopeful that the Associate Deans will consider and grant me aegrotat standing for the courses KNPE 125 and KNPE 167. I appreciate your consideration and hope to hear back with a positive outcome.
