Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I am writing this petition letter to request the waiving of the drop deadline for courses due to my recent struggle with crippling depression and hospitalization. My ongoing struggles with mental health have made it impossible for me to continue my studies.

I strongly believe that my recent hospitalization and ongoing mental health issues constitute such extenuating circumstances. My depression has been ongoing for some time. Still, it reached a critical point, resulting in my hospitalization for suicidal ideation. I could not focus on my studies or communicate effectively with my professors during this period. My hospitalization and recovery have been a long and challenging process. Only now can I approach the university and request this waiver.

I understand that the university has strict policies regarding course drop deadlines. Still, I hope you can appreciate the severity of my situation and know why I could not meet this deadline.

In conclusion, I urge the university to consider my circumstances and waive the drop deadline for my courses. I remain committed to my academic goals and believe that, with your support, I can continue to pursue my education despite these challenges.
