Petition Letter: Hello to all,
I am writing this petition letter in order to be enrolled in the PSYC 100 course for the summer 2023 term. I have already taken this course 2 times as my goal is to be in the psychology program but I have been going through a rough time ever since the winter term of 2022. My parents decided to go through a divorce right before exams, then a few months later my grandma passed away. So overall I have have a hard time with my mental health since the situation with my parents. I have also had a huge decline in my marks from high school which is normal but it was at a concerning level. After doing some research myself it came to my attention that I may have ADHD. I have now been going through the process of getting diagnosed by a doctor from student wellness and I am having my fourth appointment with him in a couple of weeks to go through the final steps. With this, I have always had such a hard time focusing which is why I do so poorly on my exams because I physically cannot sit down and focus long enough to study for the extreme amount of hours needed to do well on exams. Because of this, I wrote the deferred psyc 100 exam and just received my mark today which is why I did not enroll in the class on time. I am not happy with it he mark, so I would like to retake the course. As I have already taken these courses, I already have knowledge that will assist me in catching up on the courses so I will not be far behind and it will be easy for me to get on track.

Academic Plan: My plan by retaking these course is to increase my gpa so that in the following year I can switch into the psychology program. I have already taken a decent amount of the courses needed to graduate with a psychology degree. I also plan to take one or two courses next summer in order to complete the amount of credits needed to graduate or I will do an extra semester after the 4 years is done.
