Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear board of appeals,

i??m writing this letter to you to appeal the decision of being withdrawn for a year. As you can see from my solus records I have 3 marks weighing down my cumulative gpa tremendously. During semester one towards the ending of the semester I was really going through a lot, as I was mourning a death. I was completely stressed out and my parents immediately wanted me home during the time we loss a close family member. Being said because I went home immediately I did not do well in my classes, I had appealed 2 classes one being Empr 210 and the other Empr 100. After appealing i was given the chance to raise my mark and I ended up completing and passing my Empr 100 class which was great but did not raise my Gpa much. As for my Empr 210 class I was told I would be given the opportunity to make up my mark by completing an outstanding assignment and completing the exam. It is now May 27 and I still have no email response or any updates on what is happening with that class as it is weighing down my Gpa tremendously. I am asking you to please reconsider the decision and let me come back to Queens University next year as school is all I have. I was really going through a hard time and between classes and what was going on back home I let things slip, which is not the type of student I am.I am beyond grateful to be attending a school like Queen's University to begin with and I feel that I have finally found a voice and myself being at Queen's university. Being a black student and finding friends and clubs that except me for me was the best thing that this school has done for me and I don't wanna lose that. Having to withdraw for a year is extremely long as I am not suffering from anything right now and I am in a clear mind. Another major reason as to why I am asking you to appeal the decision as this will affect my funding tremendously. Osap is my way of funding and helping myself financially for school and being told to withdraw will completely affect my funding if asking for future funding. When coming back I would go through a significantly hard time trying to get enough funding which would mean I wouldn't even get the chance to come back next year, I would not be able to fund myself for the remainder of the academic school years. Financially, since I'm getting help from osap and it is not a crazy burden from my parents, they are able to help me, please if you could consider appealing this decision for the sake of my family and so I can be able to come back. I really need this. Queens university has so many opportunities and I have found a BAH degree for 3 years that I plan to complete. I am not going through anything right now or in any sort of distraction which is why I'm asking for the chance to redeem myself and keep myself in school. I can promise you that my grades will be up and I will be in great academic standing. I can also ensure that I will be an amazing representation of a queens university student. Please give me the chance to show you why you guys accepted me in the first place, let me redeem myself, please school is all I have right now and it's the only thing keeping me. Please if you can appeal the decision I would be beyond grateful. Thank you for your time.
