Petition Letter: I had a few concerns regarding my CISC 101 final exam scores which I would like to be regraded.
For question 1, I believe my code in its entirety satisfies the level 2 point on the “parameters and return”, “condition checking and concentration” and at least a point on the “append to new list”. I was however given a 2/10 on the question with only a single point on “parameters and return” and “docstring”. The code works and follows the correct theory however I acknowledge that it was on the incorrect format hence underserving of a grade higher than ~ 6/10.
For question 2, The code successfully takes a randomly generated list of integers, analyses the integers to correctly identify maximum and minimum values within the integers, returns a number of tries the user takes to insert the code as well as successfully validating whether the range entered is correct. Although the reported values on numbers less than the given value is not entirely complete, the minimum value is reported correctly. The data is also printed in the correct format exactly as given on the question and the code is almost entirely correct bar the incomplete code for the values below the value listed by the user. I was given a 3/10 on the question and I feel that according to the rubric, I deserve a 6/10 for the question.
For question 3, on onq, I believe there has been an error on the “data structures defined” where 1 mark was not added to my tally. The file was opened and closed correctly while writing the modified words as listed on the question. The questions on the finals were also written in a way that implied that all the questions were to be written separately but on the same python file hence my code was split. I believe that the code is styled correct with whitespace and accurate divisions. I believe that I have not followed the expected logic in the rubric however, the code correctly returns the output by using a modified dictionary, correctly lists maximum and minimum values, correctly validates user input in accordance with correct format and accurately manipulates the numbers listing both minimum and maximum values for such. I do not feel that question 3 is worthy of a failing grade either despite not receiving a single mark for it.
I have averaged an 87% on the course (excluding assignment 6 which had not been marked yet) and would like to have my examination regraded to ensure that the examination aspect does not fail me on the course despite my performance throughout the course as a whole. The final exam is a component that needs to be passed in order to pass the course in CISC 101.
