Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I experienced a severe illness in the Winter semester of 2023 which impacted my preparation for final exams and prevented me from finishing 3 PSYC courses: PSYC203, PSYC236 and PSYC241. I ended up being hospitalized at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center until May 25, 2023. After that time, I continued to receive the weekly care of specialist. My recovery is still partial and will take continuing care over the medium term. My extenuating circumstances are supported by a letter from the specialist doctor who is in charge of my care.
The three courses PSYC203, PSYC236 and PSYC241 are currently Incomplete, designated by IN in my records.
I am not able to complete these exams as scheduled in September due to ongoing health concerns.
Therefore, I am petitioning for an extension of the Incomplete granted, in order to allow me until December to complete these exams.
I thank you in advance for your support in allowing me to make a gradual return to studies, and pursue my dream and goal of obtaining the Joint Honors of Psychology and Gender Studies.
