Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear associate dean,

Hope this letter finds you well.

My name is Vivienne Cheng and my student number is 20263092. I am writing to request if it is possible to postpone my econ255 exam which was deferred last term. Originally, the final exam of econ255 last semester was postponed to August 28th due to my health issues which could be prevented in the academic consideration request. However, now I cannot enter Canada due to visa problems. 
 
I am an international student from China, and my study visa expired on April 30, 2023. Since I need to return to China during the summer vacation, I started to apply for the study visa again. Until now, my application has not been processed, which means that I cannot enter Canada and take the in-person exam. I wonder if it is possible to defer the final exam of econ255 to the end of September this year? If I can't take the exam I will fail this course, which is required for my major. Therefore, I ‘m really anxious and eager for deferring this exam. I’d appreciate it if you could approve my request. Thank you!
