Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to formally request your consideration for an adjustment in my credit standing for the MATH 225 course, which I was enrolled in over the summer. I understand the importance of maintaining academic integrity and meeting course requirements; however, I find myself in an exceptional situation that has significantly impacted my ability to perform up to my usual standards.
On July 15th, I encountered an unfortunate incident that has left me grappling with its physical and emotional aftermath. My car was broken into, and I was assaulted during the incident. As a result, I have been facing challenges that have hindered my focus and capacity to keep up with my coursework in the MATH 225 class.
The physical, emotional, and financial toll of this incident has led to disruptions in my daily routine and study habits as well as the inability to pay for my tutoring which was crucial to my success up until that point. I was unable to work, which stressed me out financially and took focus away from school. In addition to the physical recovery, I am also coping with anxiety and stress resulting from the incident. This has led to a decline in my academic performance, which is evident in my recent coursework and assignments.
I assure you that I am committed to my education and have consistently demonstrated strong dedication to my studies prior to this unforeseen event. It is my earnest desire to continue learning at queens. However, I am concerned that my current circumstances will continue to impede my progress, potentially affecting my overall academic standing
In light of these extenuating circumstances, I humbly request your consideration in granting me an adjustment to my credit standing for the MATH 225 course. I am seeking to complete the course requirements with the academic support necessary for my full recovery. This adjustment would greatly alleviate the stress I am experiencing due to the possibility of a negative impact on my academic record.
I am more than willing to provide any necessary documentation to support my petition as I had previously submitted a request of academic consideration, and to work closely with you to establish a reasonable plan for completing the course requirements. I genuinely appreciate your understanding and your dedication to the academic success of your students. Your support during this challenging time would mean a great deal to me.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my petition. I eagerly await your response and guidance on the next steps to move forward with my academic journey.
Sincerely,
Joseph Eche-Ameh
