Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean Dr. Jenn Stephenson,
I am writing to you regarding an academic petition to drop LAW 201, LAW 206, and PHYS 372 from Winter 2023. I received Incomplete Grades in these courses as I was unable to complete the majority course deliverables in the Winter 2023 semester. This summer, I was unable to complete these deliverables within the one-term extension. Due to variations in my health, including unexpected circumstances that affected my mental health, I had difficulty having the mental capacity to complete these academic deliverables extending from February in Winter 2023 until the end of summer. Thankfully, I have worked with my medical team to take new medication that has stabilized my capacity.
I have met with my medical team, including my counsellor at Student Wellness Services, to prepare for the upcoming term. I am now up to date with my fall term courses and have created a strong routine with my academics. I am requesting to drop the Winter 2023 courses to focus on this Fall term, and take my mandatory Physics course next semester.
I have also established a regular counselling plant to support me throughout this upcoming term. Please find my supporting documentation from my Student Wellness Services counsellor attached to this petition.
