Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Hello there,

I would like to drop ANAT 380 because I am struggling to keep up with my course load. I have an accommodation for a reduced course load in my Letter of Accommodation, however, I have chosen to maintain a full course load this far into my degree so that I can still graduate within four years. I have fallen behind in the course work for my two blended courses this semester due to the online module format, ANAT 380 being one of them. This week I have the highest weighted assignments due for three of my courses, including ANAT 380. As a result, I will not be able to complete all assignments to the best of my ability and my GPA will suffer. I am fearful of lowering my GPA because I need at least a 3.7 in order to be eligible for a master’s degree in physiotherapy. In addition, I have had to deal with a considerable amount of issues in my off-campus housing arrangements this semester, involving communication back and forth with my landlords and repair technicians. This has been quite stressful and time-consuming, which has distracted me from my schoolwork. Since I am struggling the most with ANAT 380, it would be the most ideal course for me to drop. I did not realize how much I was struggling with the course at the course drop deadline and was unaware of how intense my last three weeks of the semester are, especially for ANAT 380. I would rather drop the course than cram and do poorly. I also believe that the content in this course would be beneficial to my future education and career, so if I cram I will not get to enjoy the course to the fullest or attain any long-lasting knowledge of the content. Thank you for reading and I hope you consider my petition letter.

Sincerely,

Scott Whitters
