Petition Letter:
To the concerned party,
I am writing to formally request permission to withdraw from the LAW 201 course without incurring academic penalties. Throughout this semester, I faced considerable documented medical challenges, which, despite my efforts, significantly hindered my ability to fulfill the demands of a full course load at Queen's University.
While managing a substantial workload, unfortunately, I could not meet the requirements of LAW 201. After consulting with Professor Rachel Law, it was collectively decided that petitioning to withdraw from the course would be the most suitable course of action. It's important to note that this petition is not based on poor performance but rather on the absence of any completed coursework.
I am collaborating with my physician, Ada Mullet, and my Accessibility Advisor, Cristina Cardelus, to devise a more effective plan that accommodates my health needs and ensures better support in my academic pursuits. Despite my best efforts, the nature of my condition significantly hampers my ability to proactively manage my academic responsibilities, leading to this petition.
While these extenuating circumstances persist, I remain steadfast in my commitment to my education at Queen's University. The frustration of being unable to complete a course is profound, especially considering the non-traditional path my academic journey has taken due to my health challenges. Nevertheless, I am unwavering in my determination to attain a degree from Queen's, regardless of the adjustments required.
I hope my persistent dedication to completing courses amid challenging circumstances is evident. Professor Law has kindly offered to provide a supporting letter for this petition if needed.
I am earnestly seeking this withdrawal to pave the way for a more conducive academic environment in the future, allowing me the opportunity to reattempt the course with a more manageable course load.
Thank you for considering my request and understanding the complexities surrounding my situation.
Sincerely,
Molly Galvin
