Petition Letter: Subject: Petition to Withdraw from Astronomy Course (AST 101)
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to formally request your consideration for withdrawal from the Astronomy course (AST 101) for the current semester. I have carefully evaluated my circumstances and believe that withdrawing from this class is in my best interest for several reasons, primarily regarding my declining mental health.
While I have enjoyed this class significantly, I have found it incredibly difficult to succeed in this course due to its challenging nature and extensive workload, causing my mental health to suffer. For the past few weeks, I have been struggling with panic attacks when studying for this course, and I have noticed that it has taken a severe toll on my day-to-day life and my overall well-being. Along with the difficult transition of adapting to university, I have acknowledged that I have committed myself to too many things. For this reason, I am seeking consideration to withdraw from this course to prioritize my mental health and ensure a more sustainable academic experience.
In light of these circumstances, I kindly request your approval for withdrawal from the Astronomy course. I understand the importance of adhering to university policies and deadlines, and I assure you that my decision is not taken lightly. I am committed to rectifying this situation responsibly and would appreciate any guidance or advice you may have regarding the withdrawal process.
Thank you for your understanding and consideration. I look forward to speaking with you.
Sincerely,
Zane Simkin
