Dear Associate/Assistant Dean,
My name is Amanda Verebes-Budge (10093724) and I have completed my second year in PHE ED Program. I am writing to you to appeal for credit standing for ANAT 316. The course was instructed by Dr Easteal and completed in the winter 2015 semester.
Due to extenuating circumstances beyond my control, I earned a substantially lower grade in ANAT 316 than expected. In late March, I faced a crisis and psychological challenge that was overwhelming, which negatively impacted my studies. It was a serious and frightening event that I am still dealing with on a daily basis. I did receive counseling and medical attention to deal and cope with the circumstances during this difficult time. Dr Easteal has secured his support on my behalf and it is on my file and tabbed.
My professor for KNPE 227 reweighted the course because of the extenuating circumstances. I am not appealing for credit standing for the remaining courses because the timing of these exams was not a factor and I feel my final grade was a fair representation. Unfortunately the events that took place were out of my control and prevented me from preparing and performing up to my academic potential.
I continue to deal with these extenuating circumstances but plan to heal with the support of my family, a personal counselor and medical health care professional. Through regular scheduled visits I hope to gather to coping tools to be able to put this incident behind me and be a stronger person for it. My goal is to return to Queen's in the fall with the same drive and academic abilities that I had prior to this unfortunate crisis.
I thank you in advance for considering my appeal for credit standing
