Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: A few days earlier, I contracted the flu and I had to take medications to help my body feel better. However, these medications caused me to fall asleep before the exam. After a few hours, I woke up and realized the exam was over. I was well prepared for this exam, and I could do this exam at any other time. I could not have done anything in this situation, since I had to take Tylenol because I had a bad headache and my body temperature reached 40 degrees. I was just laying in bed but the Tylenol caused me to sleep. I did not go to the hospital because then I would've had to wait for hours and I needed time to study for my other exams. Therefore, I don't have any documents provided by the hospital. I know that deferral of the exam to a later date may not be possible, so I wish to drop this course. I'm trying to apply for medical school in the future, and this is detrimental to my overall GPA. Before this exam, I had very high marks and I always worked hard to do well in this course. This exam was worth 45% of my final grade, and without it, I would automatically fail this course. This is one of the biggest mistakes I've made in my life, and I hope I can get another chance.
