My name is Mariam Alubaidy, my student number is 20281045
I am petitioning to drop BCHIM 218-001 and CHEM 281-002 (fall 2022). I transferred from Queens University to Western University for the fall 2022 semester. At the start of my year at Queens university, I had left a month into school to complete the rest of the school year online due to the fact that Covid-19 had taken a toll on my mental health. I provided the school with a medical note from the doctor and they happily let me continue my studies from home. During this time I went through the process of transferring to Western university. During my transfer process I was under the impression that when I had transferred everything would be dealt with between Queens University, Western University as well as OSAP. Since my payments for school are done through OSAP and the transfer was done between schools , I was unaware that I had to call the Arts and Science department announcing my “drop”, as I thought a transfer was a different thing. I did not drop the courses earlier as I was unaware until recently about an overdue balance on my account since I am no longer a student at Queen's University. If I had known earlier, I would have done this earlier into the year. Furthermore, I am unable to finish these two courses as I dont attend the school anymore and attend a different program at a different school. The reason I am only requesting to drop these two courses is because they are the only courses that account for this overdue balance and as a student who pays through OSAP, this is something I can't fund.
