Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern:
Hi,
I am Linjun Xie and I am a forth-year student majored in FILM.
The purpose of this letter is to request for a late course drop.
I selected ENIN340 for 2022WINTER, but when the COVID-19 happened, I decided to suspend my study (as a gap year). However, I did not pay the tuition fee because I thought ENIN340 was in my shopping cart instead of my enrollment, I am sorry about this behavior, and I did not realize it would cause problems. Due to this situation, I did not participate any lecture/tutorial of ENIN340. When I noticed that there was a financial penalty for not paying the tuition fee, I paid the penalty fee immediately (I will attach the payment voucher), and I thought it meant that I did not have to take ENIN340. But I found there was an “F” grade in my transcript.
During my gap year, there had been some bad changes in my family, my grandfather had passed away, and I did not see the last of him. That was very awful and painful to me. Also, the business of my parents were facing to some troubles, so I stayed in China and made adjustment (mentally and financially). That is the reason I did not go back to the Queen’s in the past two years.

1. The Original Copy of my grandfather's Death Certificate, and Registration Card (to prove the relationship with my grandfather Yourong Xie and me).
2. The translated document of the Death Certificate and Registration Card.
3. A letter from my father Jun Xie.
4. My father's business card which includes his contact information
5. The payment voucher of the penalty fee for ENIN340.
I am sorry that I did not submit the petition letter earlier, because I did not know there is a 1-year deadline to submit a petition. And because of the bad situation happened to me, I was not able to check my plan and courses frequently, which made a misunderstanding. So I am applying for dropping ENIN340 (or changing the “F” grade into an “NG” for the course), because I did not take the course.
