Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I am appealing to drop the class, MICR 270, after the 2-week drop period has passed. I was unable to drop the course prior to January 19th. I had started the semester with the hope that the term would bring great experiences and new opportunities. As the term progressed, my mental health began to relapse. I have been in the process of getting connected with a professional regarding my learning disabilities since late December. Along with severe depression and being unmedicated, I had let my course load for this class fall behind. MICR 270 is not a core course for my degree plan and it is not required in order to meet my elective requirements. While I had directed my sole attention to my core courses (4 classes this term, 3 of which have lab components), I was failing to maintain my health. The additional burden of this class, caused me to neglect eating and deterred me from being able to thrive in my required classes. I was unable to complete the online modules prior to quizzes and an regretful that if this continues, I will not be able to perform as needed in mandatory classes this term. I can already see the toll that this class has taken on my attendance. I was unable to drop the class due to my poor mental health; I did not realize the associated dates had passed. I am appealing that I be able to drop this class without it reflecting poorly on my transcript and my financial situation.
Sincerely,
Keerat Dhothar
