Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Part way through last semester I suffered an injury during rugby practice and had to undergo surgery. during this time I submitted an academic considerations appeal which was accepted. around the time I underwent surgery however I received some really upsetting news that a close friend of mine had recently passed due to an incident with a drunk driver. After that, seeing that the injury and missing the rest of the season was already plaguing my mind and this news on top of that just put me in a position where I needed to take an extended amount of time to gather myself and reflect before returning to academics. to go into brief detail about what my mental health was like during this time I couldn't sleep I was incredibly depressed I couldn't focus on any type of academic progress despite my best efforts, I would feel absolutely useless and unmotivated every day and i couldnt do anything productive. I tried my very best to salvage things with the Deferred exams but they just didn't go my way and it seemed like the time I had taken off while I was focusing on myself would make passing the course almost unattainable.I need to pick up two psyc courses in order to finish my minor this was not part of my plan I was ideally supposed to finish my minor in this last semester but unfortunately those deferred exams did not go my way which now means I have to pick up to psyc credits in order to graduate

ideally I'm looking to pick up two of the ones that I've listed this was recommended to me by an academic advisor in case I wasn't able to get enrolled in my first choices. Ideally I can get enrolled in Psych 305 and psyc 331 and if that's the case I will drop the other three courses listed as I only need two.
