My name is Brennan Paterson, 20182107 and I am currently an upper-year student in the applied economics program.
I am writing this petition with the hope that I can get into PPEC 200 during the winter 2024 term. I understand that I missed the add/drop deadline for this term, however, it has recently come to my attention that I am 3 credits short of being able to graduate in the spring. I had no idea that this was the case until today, and because of that, I am writing this petition. I have previously completed a course for the same instructor, Raymond de Souza and did quite well. I am asking for this request to go through so I can graduate in the spring instead of returning for another term to complete 1 course to obtain the three credits. I have emailed Mr. de Souza and the academic chair, and hope that this exception can be made for me and that I can gain their support.
I have viewed the prospective course, PPEC 200 (as it is in the list of courses that I am missing, APEC_OPTIONS) and saw that there are 2 available seats in the class. I was hoping to get into that class because as an applied economics major, I naturally am drawn to philosophical approaches and feel that I would greatly benefit from taking this course and would have a good opportunity to succeed. This class would also fill the requirement to allow me to graduate, so I would greatly and deeply appreciate it if this exception could be made.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: My plan going forward is to complete every assignment before the deadline or end of the grace period. I typically complete work fairly fast, however I will now be completing assignments in advance before deadlines. This will allow me to have more time to ensure that my responsibilities are in order and that I do not miss any major deadlines going forward. I am also informing my workplace of the larger course load, to make sure that my work schedule does not interfere with attending classes, as since i thought i only needed to take 3 courses, I have been working 2-3 shifts a week. This should allow me to be more focused and have more mental clarity than I have had previously, causing this lapse in judgment. With these new changes, I anticipate more devotion to my schoolwork and commitment to getting the degree on time and fulfilling all of my responsibilities. This will also mark significant personal growth for me because I will be more suited to adequately and efficiently completing my responsibilities in a timely manor.
