Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I'm requesting an appeal to drop the specified courses as in February of 2023 I had to go to court to testify for when I got assaulted. This happened in the middle of the semester, and I was at court for a week. This caused me to miss that week of school which put me very behind in all my classes. As well it was very emotionally harmful and made it very difficult to compete work and focus. When I came back, I had a lot of work built up and had a very hard time focusing and catching up on the stuff I missed. I also fell into a depression due to the feelings that I got brought up during the trial. To try to deal with this I restarted therapy as the court had brought up a lot of unresolved emotions that were not dealt with, but it was still very challenging. Recently I’ve been able to get back on track and feel more focused and healed from the event. I also choose to take a fifth year to give me extra time and make it able to take a reduced course loud.
