Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hello,

I have been having a very tough semester because my sister has been severely struggling with her mental health, and is suicidal. I have been under unimaginable amounts of distress which has resulted in my assignments being completed passed the due date for PHIL 115. Specifically, for assignments “A2.7: What is Ethics?”, “A2.8 What is Justice?”, and “Critical Essay (W24)”. For instance, I even had the “A2.7: What is Ethics?” assignment completed prior to the deadline; however, I was in such a bad mental state that I couldn’t even get myself to submit it. I am back up on my feet, and I am motivated to fix my semester. I have all three of these assignments completed now, and I will have the newest assignment, “A2.9: What Is Love?” assignment handed in by the deadline. I would be more than grateful for your understanding, and to be permitted to submit these assignments now without being penalized for its late submission. Additionally, I would like to drop my class ARTH 120 without receiving an automatic failing grade. I did poorly in the first semester on ARTH 120, so I planned on making up for it during the second semester of this course; however, as previously explained, things didn’t go as planned during this second semester. I am open to any feedback, and I am just looking to get back on track. Thank you in advance.
