Associate Dean, Dr. Jenn Stephenson,
I am petitioning to drop MATH 225 (Winter, 2024). My reasoning for this is because of extenuating circumstances regarding myself, my family, and my financial situation. Last year, I petitioned to drop PHYS 206 because of similar circumstances. These matters have persisted into this year and continue to weigh on me every single day. My parents have been finalizing their divorce after almost 7 years of separation this year, and I have played the middleman in a lot of it. I have become fully financially independent due to their divorce, and this has been a significant point of stress, time, and brainpower. Because of this, I let my focus on this specific course drop, due to its difficulty, and I believe that I will not be able to pass the class with my current grade. Additionally, I have planned to continue in the future with only 3 classes at a time, as my psychiatrist had suggested before I left high school. Hence, I am petitioning to drop MATH 225 and take to it again during my next period of study.
Thank you very much for your consideration, I look forward to hearing back from you.
Best,
Delaney Beacock
