Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am writing to request special consideration for a late withdrawal from PATH 310. Recent events, both deeply personal and traumatic, have made it impossible for me to continue with this course.
The critical illness of my mother, who was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor requiring urgent surgery, has severely impacted my mental well-being and concentration, severely hindering my academic performance. Efforts to seek mental health support have not substantially alleviated my distress.
Compounding these challenges, I have suffered a traumatic injury to my face, necessitating emergency reconstructive surgery scheduled for April 15th. This situation makes it impractical for me to attend the final exam on April 16th.
As a dedicated student who has consistently maintained a high academic standard, this request comes in light of unprecedented circumstances. I believe that withdrawing from the course is the most reasonable course of action under these conditions.
I am prepared to provide necessary documentation to support my request and would greatly appreciate your understanding and assistance in facilitating this late withdrawal.
Thank you for your consideration of my situation.
Sincerely,
Nima Nezhadi
