Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,


I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to request a drop from my ECON351 course, despite being aware that the deadline for such requests has passed. I regret the lateness of this appeal, but I only recently became aware of the possibility to request a drop after the deadline.


My academic performance this year, particularly in ECON351, has been below my standards. Unfortunately, I struggled to focus on this course due to personal issues that has caused me severe anxiety throughout the year. These factors significantly impacted my ability to engage effectively with the material and complete assignments to the best of my ability. I realize that I should have sought assistance or considered dropping the course earlier. However, the weight of my circumstances and the associated mental health challenges made it difficult for me to recognize and address the situation at the time. I am genuinely concerned about the impact of this course on my GPA, and the thought of it further diminishing my academic standing is causing me considerable anxiety. Nevertheless, I am committed to retaking the course in the upcoming fall semester and do better.


I understand the importance of adhering to deadlines and regulations, and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience my late request may cause. I assure you that this decision is not taken lightly and is motivated by a genuine desire to prioritize my mental well-being while acknowledging my academic limitations in the current circumstances.


I kindly request your understanding and consideration in granting this drop from the ECON351 course. Doing so would alleviate the additional stress and pressure I am currently experiencing, allowing me to focus on addressing my personal challenges.
