Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am writing to request permission to enroll in STAM 200. This course is a prerequisite for another course I am taking, and not being able to register would severely impact my graduation progress next year. Recently, due to academic pressures and uncertainty about the future, I have experienced symptoms of depression. I am currently receiving treatment at the school hospital and taking Prozac, which has improved my condition. Depression has affected my enthusiasm for learning and my ability to concentrate, but my situation has improved following treatment. To make up for the coursework I have fallen behind on, I plan to continue taking Prozac and regularly attend psychological counseling. I will also self-study by reviewing PPTs and watching video recordings to improve my academic performance. My medical records from the school hospital can verify this.

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: To ensure my academic progress and mental health, I have devised the following detailed academic plan: First, I will continue to take Prozac on schedule and regularly attend psychological counseling and assessments to ensure my emotional stability. Secondly, as I enrolled in the course later, to catch up on missed content, I plan to self-study by reviewing PowerPoints, watching video recordings, and using course materials. Should I encounter any difficulties, I will promptly contact the teaching assistant or professor for assistance. Finally, I aim to catch up with the course schedule within a week and then continue my studies at a normal pace.
