Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Hello,

I aim to explain my poor academic performance and the path of improvement I am currently on to succeed in the upcoming year. My name is Alex Lorusso, and I am a 4th year student at Queens. I have struggled this past year, especially in the last semester, due to extenuating circumstances. I have struggled to accept these problems but now that I am aware, I am on a path of rehabilitation.

I have struggled with depression and generalized anxiety for as long as I can remember. I was officially diagnosed in February 2024, after a

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: My plan for rehabilitation includes therapy and medication which I am currently doing. I am planning on creating an academic plan with an academic advisor to figure out what courses I should be taking to succeed in the upcoming year. I am planning on retaking the courses I have failed as I know with a clear mind and no struggles I can exceed academically. I want to be able to graduate soon. I think a year off will not help as school is something that gets me out of bed in the morning. It keeps me healthy mentally, and without school, I don't know what I would say to my family or how they would even take it. I swear I will not take anything for granted again in my life. I'm sorry.
