Petition Letter: Dear Dean,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally request permission to drop CHEM 281 from the Summer 2024 term, which I was unable to do before the official deadline.

I have been experiencing severe Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) for an extended period, which has significantly impacted my ability to focus, perform academically, and complete various tasks. It is only recently that I have received a formal diagnosis of GAD from a healthcare professional and received prompt treatment, which has provided clarity on the challenges I have been facing.

Due to the severity of my condition, I was unable to keep up with the term and course requirements and, consequently, could not drop the course by the deadline. Given these circumstances, I kindly request that you allow me to withdraw from CHEM 281 without academic penalty.

I am attaching my medical documentation for your review and am happy to provide additional documentation if needed. I sincerely hope you understand my situation and consider my request favourably.
