Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Appeal Letter: I am writing to respectfully request reconsideration of my petition, which was initially denied due to insufficient documentation. I now have the necessary documentation to confirm both the extenuating circumstances I endured over the past year and the steps I am actively taking to manage these circumstances to ensure my academic success. I recognize that without supporting documentation, my initial petition may have appeared incomplete or unsubstantiated. However, I am now including statements from my family and counselor/tutor, who can confirm these events and the impact they had on my well-being. These documents also verify that I have been receiving counseling to process and manage the emotional toll of these events.

Through regular sessions, I have learned valuable coping strategies that are helping me regain my focus and emotional balance, which I am confident will support my academic progress. In addition to my counseling, I have implemented an academic recovery plan to ensure that I can handle my course load effectively. This plan includes structured study blocks, goal-setting, weekly reviews, and proactive communication with tutors and academic advisors to address any challenges I encounter. By taking these proactive steps, I am committed to managing my academic responsibilities and proving my capability to succeed.

I respectfully ask that my appeal be reconsidered now that I have provided this documentation to confirm the extenuating circumstances I faced and the proactive steps I am taking to achieve academic success. I am deeply committed to my education and to rebuilding a strong academic record at this institution.
