Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I hope you're doing well. I'm writing because I need to add a course, but unfortunately, I missed the deadline. Here’s the situation:

In my first year, my grades weren’t great, but I’ve worked hard since then to turn things around. I recently got back into the Honours program, which I’m really excited about, but there was some confusion on my part about which courses I needed to take. After talking with the undergraduate assistant, I realized I still need to take Phil 329 in order to be eligible for the 400 level courses next year that are required for graduation.

I understand that deadlines exist for a reason, but given that I’m just getting everything sorted out with my return to the Honours program, I missed it by mistake. I’m ready to dive into the course and catch up on anything I’ve missed.

I’d really appreciate your understanding and any help you can offer in allowing me to add this course so I can stay on track to graduate next year.
