Follow-up Request to Waive the 21-Day Appeal Submission Deadline
Dear academic advisor and appeals coordinator,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing as a follow-up to the appeal letter I submitted on September 18, 2024 regarding my academic dismissal from Queen's University. I understand that my appeal was submitted after the 21-day deadline, and I sincerely apologize for this oversight.
I respectfully request a waiver of the 21-day appeal submission deadline to allow my appeal to be considered.
As mentioned in my appeal letter, I only recently became fully aware of the probationary measures and the seriousness of my academic standing after thoroughly reviewing university communications and policies. Upon receiving the dismissal letter—which I regretfully read later than intended—I realized the gravity of my situation. It was then that I reviewed my emails and discovered earlier communications from my academic advisor offering support.
I deeply regret not seeing these emails sooner and not taking advantage of the assistance that was available to me. The delay in submitting my appeal was due to this misunderstanding and my lack of awareness of the probationary consequences.
I am committed to addressing the issues that led to my academic difficulties and have outlined a comprehensive plan in my appeal letter to improve my academic performance and fully engage with the resources provided by the university.
I kindly ask for your understanding and consideration in waiving the appeal submission deadline so that my appeal can be reviewed by your esteemed committee.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I am hopeful for the opportunity to continue my studies at Queen's University and to demonstrate my commitment to academic excellence.
Sincerely,

Massimiliano Mirabella Bodden
