To whom it may concern,
I, Laura Burney, am requesting that the deadline for dropping courses be extended so that I can drop my fall 2024 courses without academic penalty. My mental health has been rapidly declining since near the end of October and I am now unable to participate in my academics and need this time to work with my counsellor towards getting myself back on track mentally for a positive start to next term. I had been struggling before this October with my mental health, but it only became completely unmanageable when I injured my shoulder in late October, which added a physical barrier to completing schoolwork and daily living and therefore more intense emotional stress, resulting in me being physically and mentally unable to participate in academics.
