Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,

I am writing this petition with the hope of having my INDG 101 course late-dropped. Early on in the semester, I endured a traumatic experience that left me depressed and reeling. I have since been having weekly mental health counselling sessions with Student Wellness Services as I grapple with healing. However, in my pursuit of trying to understand what happened to me, I fell behind in my schoolwork and was unable to meet the academic responsibilities that were required of me. It it my hope that I be allowed to drop INDG 101 so that I may focus on passing my other courses in these last few weeks of fall semester, since it is the course I’m least likely to do well in. I have plans to retake it next semester, however.

I hope my struggles this semester don’t affect my academic career moving forward, which is why I ask you to please consider my petition. Thank you.
