Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: During the return from Bader in December I was feeling very stressed and tired. Stress accumulated with the arrival to main campus and not being able to move into the home I was supposed to initially. Classes were okay to start but the more I went through school the more depressed I got. I realized how hard it was for me to confront myself and who I really was. Work was painful friends were painful and family was painful. However, despite all this I attempted to endure up until late January to early February. During the time from February to March and April I attempted to take steps to better myself. Working on each aspect of my life individually, but that didn't work either. Eventually, I lost sight of what I wanted to do. However I believe I have found what I wanted to do and am willing to work hard to achieve it. I got a job and started working again. I started focusing on mending family bonds and friendships. Even if everything isn't going my way I feel better about myself more than before. Talking to adults and taking their experiences as well as approaching student services and the mental health office really helped too. I never went to an actual professional but I can say without a doubt I was depressed and I took the right steps and methods to try and better myself. I just ask if I could receive the second chance that not many get.
