Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I am requesting the CLST 102 because I messed up and received a terrible grade. It was one of the first courses to be exclusively tests and at first, I thought I would accomplish that due to the course topics but I lacked the skills to succeed. I one point I sat down and asked my friend to teach me to properly study as I never truly experienced tests all my courses in high school included only large assignments and my first year was at Bader which also did not include many tests and even the exams was take-home and I've been struggling to accumulate with many classes this term as Bader has left me at a hard place and I extremely feel that Bader has ruined my academic career and I feel that I am at a standstill trying to improve.
I also was dealing with many personal matters this semester, as someone I considered a friend put me in a difficult situation and then threatened me, I've been struggling mentally as I've cut out said friend because I am afraid that they would act on their threats. I know I should not blame others for my shortcomings but this semester has been one long mental battle that I let impact my academic life.
I want to retake the course next fall semester, I enjoyed the class, and even though my mental health was hindering me I wish to drop the course you would find it in your heart to do so. I feel that this grade does not show my true worth in the academic scope. As I've cut contact with those who were not helping me succeed I would be honored the chance to try again at a later date.
I love university and I love being here, I feel like I failed myself in so many ways this semester. I feel like I've disappointed myself because I loved CLST 102 and it's what made me want to look into becoming a major or minor in it, I hate that let someone have so much power over me and ruin something I became so passionate about.
Thank you for your consideration,
