Petition Letter: Hi,
In winter 2022, I had a concussion and had to drop HLTH252. During this time I was given special permission to pick up HSCI270.

This then caused a variety of issues in the future. First, during my 4th year course enrolment the course was never marked off in SOLUS therefore the system did not count me as a 4th year student and would not let me register into any courses. My entire last semester was messed up because of this, ending up in KNPE seminars as opposed to HLTH and taking credits I would not normally take. Now this semester, still due to the late enrolment I am unable to get into 5 courses - I am in 4 and on the waitlist for my 5th. I was hoping for special permission to take GLPH281 as although I had already taken 2 outside courses (COMM251 and GLPH271), I really do not have very many other options, especially as any in person classes are in ones that are outside my major, and in majors of courses which I have not previously taken.

Moreover, I am worried that due to HSCI270 being outside of arts and science that now, my GLPH271 is not being counted towards my degree as it says I am short 6.00 units currently. I wanted to ensure that this will still be counted as when I was given approval for HSCI270 there was no warning that it meant that I would have to take an extra credit.

Overall, I am just looking to ensure that I am able to graduate on time and have no more issues due to my HSCI270 not being approved when it was originally supposed to be.
