Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: good morning, when attempting to gain access to this course, not only was I on a waiting list for two other classes i did not gain access to, but the waitlist was not open and the class was closed. however upon opening solus on Saturday, Jan 18th (the morning after the deadline) I found that it had miraculously reopened with spots available. immediately after learning this I contacted the professor requesting access to the course if she'd allow it (which she has). I contacted her as soon as possible as I did not want to seem like I had left this to last minute and am now scrambling to fill my semester as this was not the case. As of right now, I will be taking 3 summer courses in summer 2025 to make up for my commerce certificate plus one summer class as I took a law class last year not knowing that it was out of program. An academic advisor told me to mention that I had received no email notifying me that I was exceeding the amount of out of program courses and that me already taking 3 this summer should help my case (I really don't have the time to make it 4 classes this summer). I have no problem sharing the email from professor Sypnowich, stating she'll allow me into her course.
