Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hello,

My name is Vasily Nikulin and I am a fourth year student at Queen's University majoring in Applied Economics.

I need to complete 5 courses this semester (Winter 2025) in order to qualify for graduation this Spring.

I was successfully enrolled in 4 of the courses but for an unknown reason the SOLOS portal failed to enroll me into the final course (ECON 452). I was originally placed on the waitlist, then I was 1st in line for over a week. The SOLUS portal stated that there were 6 available spots (I have a screenshot showing this) yet the system did not enroll me.

I reached out to the professor who then suggested I reach out to Morgan Wilson, the department manager. We were unable to find a solution by the time the deadline for adding courses hit and I was taken off the waitlist. Morgan then suggested I file this petition in order to get enrolled into the ECON 452 course after the deadline.

I am currently enrolled in 4 courses, I need one more 400-level course in order to graduate at the end of this semester. Please help me resolve this issue.
