Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Registrar & Associate Dean,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to formally request permission to late add STAT 263 for the Winter 2025 term. I understand that the deadline to add courses was January 17th, 2025, but I was unable to make an informed decision about enrolling in the course due to exceptional circumstances.

I had two deferred exams scheduled on January 17th and January 18th, 2025, one of which was STAT 263. So of course these exams were crucial for determining whether I needed to retake STAT 263. Unfortunately, the exam schedule coincided with the course add deadline, leaving me no opportunity to confirm my academic standing before the deadline passed. Once my second deferred exam was completed on January 18th, I realized that enrolling in STAT 263 was necessary for my academic progress.

Given this unique situation, I kindly request that an exception be made to allow me to enroll in STAT 263 for this term. I understand the importance of adhering to academic deadlines, but the timing of my deferred exams directly impacted my ability to meet the course add deadline.

I am fully committed to catching up on any missed material and ensuring my success in the course. I believe this adjustment will help me achieve my educational goals and maintain my academic trajectory. I also believe it will be no issue as I already did the material so I haven't

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: I have already taken STAT 263 in a previous term and performed well throughout most of the course. However, toward the end of the last semester, I encountered personal issues and poorly timed short-term illnesses that negatively impacted my ability to complete the course successfully. These challenges have since been resolved, and I am confident that I am now in a strong position to succeed in STAT 263.

Since I am already familiar with the material covered to date, I have a solid foundation to build on as I resume the course.
