Petition Letter: Hello,

My name is Alex Wilcox, and I am a second-year Arts student at Queen’s University. I am writing to request permission to enroll in two courses after the registration deadline due to extenuating circumstances beyond my control, which have directly impacted my academic progress.
At the beginning of this term, I was mistakenly enrolled in a course for which I was ineligible. Unfortunately, I discovered this about a week and a half into the course. This unforeseen situation required me to reorganize my academic schedule entirely. As a result, I have been left without the courses needed to fulfill my academic requirements and now need to enroll in these two classes to get back on track.
This disruption has caused significant stress and concern about my ability to stay on top of my coursework. The situation has been further exacerbated by the time lost while resolving the issue, during which I was unable to begin work in the courses I now need to join. Recognizing the toll on my mental health, I have sought support from my counsellor to help manage the stress and ensure my overall well-being during this process.

To address the situation, I took immediate action:
I sought and received permission from the instructors of the two required courses to enroll late and catch up on missed work.
I proactively scheduled counselling appointments to mitigate the mental health challenges arising from this disruption.

I am eager to start as soon as possible and am committed to putting in the extra effort required to catch up and succeed. I kindly ask for your consideration of this petition so I can proceed with my academic goals without further delay.
