Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am writing to request an approval to drop my Computer Science I course (CISC-121) due to Issues with my health that unfortunately has significantly impacted my academic performance during this term and especially on the final.
Throughout this semester, I have faced several health challenges that were entirely beyond my control. These challenges began to escalate during the peak of exam season, creating a large challenge to maintain the desired work level. During critical periods of this term, I was required to visit the hospital due to recurring heart-related issues. This included experiencing frequent periods of heart pain, which severely limited my ability to concentrate and study effectively. One of the most significant episodes occurred the day before an exam, requiring an emergency room visit. These incidents disrupted my ability to prepare the way I would like to for my coursework and exams.
Also, I was diagnosed with a parasitic infection that required me to begin a new course of medication. However, the in infection resulted in severe sleep disturbances, further impacting my ability to focus, and retain information. The combination of these health challenges, including the physical strain placed on my body, and exhaustion, effect made it extremely difficult to meet the demands of my coursework. Despite my best efforts, I was unable to preform to the desired level in the course CISC-121.
Furthermore, currently in the second semester I am retaking the CISC-121 course in hopes to achieve grade that is not interrupted by external factors. Also, that meets with what I am truly able to achieve in this course. and I hope to work in the direction During this time, I really tried to manage these challenges. I spoke to healthcare professionals, followed medical their advice, and prioritized my health when it seemed that I had to. I respectfully ask that you consider my petition to drop my fall CISC-121 due to the issues I ran into while taking the course. Thank you for your understanding and for taking the time to review my case. If further information or clarification is required, I am more than willing to provide it.

Sincerely,
Alexander Daicoff
