Petition Letter: I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention an issue regarding the grading of my exam for the Biology course I took last semester. I would like to seek your guidance and assistance in resolving this matter as I do not know who to go to.
Initially, my exam grade was adjusted by adding 20 points on top of the original grade (done for everyone in the course), as it was noted that the TAs, being human, could have made errors. I fully understand and appreciate this procedure. However, after the regrading of my exam, I discovered that my grade was higher than my original grade.
While I am grateful for the regrade, I would like to understand why my original grade cannot be changed to my regraded mark plus the 20-point adjustment made for everyone. Why is my exam grade being kept as my original mark plus the 20-point adjustment, even though the regrade resulted in a higher score?
I have made several attempts to discuss this issue directly with my professor, but unfortunately, I have not received any responses to my inquiries other than dismissive replies,
