Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am requesting both a waive of the 21-day appeal deadline, and a request for review of instructors decisions on grading. I was waiting on my instructor to return a graded paper for the set and agreed date of June 24th 2015, as she stated she was out of town and unable to return my paper when requested in April. I agreed to this date, and since she has informed me she will not be able to provide my final paper due to surgery. She has since indicated that my paper will now be returned in September, this seems like an extensive wait time as I was given a 60 on my final paper (a huge jump from the 88, and other A grades received in this class). I was also told an alternate grading scheme was used to grade the final paper, the instructor was not able to provide this information to be when I requested how she came up with my grade. I do not have a graded paper to formulate a clearly articulated appeal for regarding.

Please advise.
