Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am writing to formally request a refund of tuition fees for the Fall 2024 term due to a documented medical withdrawal. My son, Desi Moulton (Student ID: 20493721), was forced to withdraw from Queen’s University to address significant mental health challenges.

Desi began experiencing symptoms in mid-October 2024, leading to a withdrawal from academics and communication. His family attempted to intervene through security checks and outreach to residence staff including; communication with Brandon Rombough and Meghan Stouffer Leuprecht. Desi also sought support from university services, including meetings with counselor Terra Sweigard and submitted to Queen's Accessibility Services a Queen's Verification of Mental Health Disability form from our family doctor.

Despite Desi's efforts to seek support on campus, his condition worsened, and he returned home on February 27, 2025. His commitment to resuming his studies when his health improves remains steadfast. However, given the financial burden of tuition and his inability to complete courses due to his condition, we are requesting a refund to support his potential future return to post secondary education.
