Petition Letter: As supported by medical documentation I hope to attach to this petition, I sustained a severe concussion a few years back and am just returning from a year off school and brain injury rehabilitation. This was the result of being hurt by someone who is now a suspect of my assault in accordance with the Hamilton Ontario Police. Due to this, I was suffering from severe symptoms which I am a registered SAS student for. During this time, my mother was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, which metastasized to her lymphatic system. When I was taking PHGY 215, my mother was in and out of intensive surgeries. Additionally, my father had a heart attack in early February, which resulted in me balancing both my parent's illness and my own recovery. I am the eldest child, so there was no one older than me who could take care of it. I could not handle taking 6 courses, which I took on because I didn't want to be a burden on my family by staying in school for longer. Please consider my petition, as the DR on my transcript could impact my application to medical school this upcoming September.
