Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am writing to request permission to take more than 6.0 credits outside of Queen’s during my semester abroad. I am hoping to take a full course load while there so I can stay on track with my academic plan and graduate on time. I understand the 6.0 credit limit is the standard, but taking a full course load is important for making the most of my exchange experience both academically and personally. I’ve carefully selected courses that match my degree requirements and have consulted with my academic advisor to ensure they will transfer appropriately. I am committed to continuing my studies at a high level while abroad and truly appreciate your consideration of this request.
Academic Plan
Academic Plan: To support my academic success, I have created a clear plan for the upcoming year. I intend to complete all of my core required courses at Queen’s during the first semester next year, so that I can take elective courses while abroad. This approach will allow me to manage a full course load more effectively while ensuring that I stay on track with my degree requirements. I have reviewed this plan with an academic advisor and confirmed that the elective courses I plan to take while abroad can be transferred toward my degree. By front-loading my core courses and focusing on electives during my exchange, I believe I will be able to balance academic success with the unique opportunities of studying in a new environment.
