Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Dear Academic Advising Committee,
I hope you’re well. I’m writing to respectfully request approval to take more than 6.0 credits outside of Queen’s during my upcoming semester abroad. My goal is to maintain a full course load while away, so I can remain on track with my academic plan and ensure timely completion of my degree.
While I understand that 6.0 credits is the usual limit, I believe taking a full course load will allow me to get the most out of my exchange experience — both academically and personally. I’ve selected courses that align with my degree requirements and have consulted with my academic advisor to confirm their suitability for transfer.
I’m committed to continuing my studies at a high standard while abroad, and I deeply appreciate your time and consideration of this request.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: To support my academic progress, I’ve developed a thoughtful plan for the upcoming year. My intention is to complete all of my core required courses at Queen’s during the first semester, so that I can focus on elective courses while on exchange. This structure will help me manage a full course load more effectively and stay aligned with my degree requirements. I’ve been in ongoing communication with an academic advisor to ensure this plan is feasible, and we’ve confirmed that the elective courses I intend to take abroad are eligible for transfer toward my degree. By front-loading my core courses and dedicating my exchange semester to electives, I feel confident in my ability to balance academic success with the valuable experience of studying in a new cultural setting.
